Beta Gameplay Footage Revealed

Check out this short video to see a quick 3 lap session from Aveiro, Portugal on an Avelia 4VRS bike. The video gives a first look at the riding gameplay and some of the pre race bike setup options.

Dynamic Weather

The race begins during a heavy rainfall. The wet track surface challenged the riders ability to maintain grip and acceleration during turns and while braking. The treaded tires and TCS settings were an important choice that allowed the rider to complete the session without a crash.

Tire Type & Compound

The treaded tire favors wet conditions and allows water to escape while the tire passes along the road surface, preventing hydroplaning. This is the most important decision that you need to make during dynamic weather sessions.

The soft tire compound is ideal for track temperatures lower than approximately 32-33 degrees Celsius. The 29 degree track surface allows the tire to maintain the ideal temperature and hopefully maintain itself throughout the race and not entirely wear out before race end. In this case, we may have been better suited for a medium compound as the tire did end up wearing out before the race end, making the final lap tricky to manage the bike through several turns.

Electronics

The medium TCS setting allows the bike to send more power to the wheels during turns, resulting in more acceleration at the expense of manageability. The rider was close to losing control during several turns but ultimately the medium TCS setting proved to be a good match for the overall track conditions and tire selection.

We’ll take a deep dive into dynamic weather and bike setup in future videos. Hope you enjoyed this one and stay tuned for more insights into the game as we approach the closed Beta 1 release.
